Magazine design and layout that showcases great character: A series of fun and fictitious magazine layouts based on some of TV oddest men and strongest women.
I've created several fake magazines based on the qualities of various sitcom tv characters. The idea for these magazines came from my love of 1980s television and the weirdo guys and strong, sassy women portrayed in them. Newer characters like Seinfeld's Kramer, who's overly intrusive when it comes to Jerry's life and apartment naturally he gets a guest cover on Overly Intrusive Neighbor magazine.
Also included are some comic books I created based on my time working at a small, independent hardware store (that was full of characters). They were created from pencil sketches drawn on register receipts around 1997 to 1998, then later scanned and redrawn in Adobe Illustrator.
